Cookies Policy

About this policy

This policy explains what cookies are, what this website stores on your device, and how you can control it. It applies to this website, run by The Pitched Roofing Company Ltd. For how we handle the personal details you send us, such as through our enquiry form, see our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or phone. They are sent back to that website on later visits, which lets it remember things — for example that you are logged in, or which pages you have looked at. Your browser’s local storage can hold information in a similar way, so this policy covers that too.

Cookies we use

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website, such as which pages are visited most and how visitors find us. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics only runs if you press Accept in our cookie pop-up. Until you do, nothing is loaded from Google and no cookies are set. If you press Reject, it stays off.

When it is switched on, Google Analytics sets these cookies:

The information collected is statistical. It does not tell us who you are. It is processed by Google on our behalf; you can read how Google uses it at policies.google.com.

Our enquiry form

Apart from Google Analytics, this website sets no cookies of its own, and our fonts and images are served from this website itself. The one exception is our enquiry form. It is provided by LeadConnector, the system we use to manage enquiries, and loads from link.edirect.uk. When a page with the form opens:

• Cloudflare, which protects LeadConnector’s servers, sets a security cookie called __cf_bm on link.edirect.uk and leadconnectorhq.com. It helps tell real visitors from automated bots, does not identify you, and expires after 30 minutes.
• The form loads its own code from LeadConnector’s servers and its lettering from Google Fonts, and it may run a spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA), which can set cookies of its own.
• The form’s script can keep some details on your device to make the form quicker to use: any campaign tags in the page address (such as utm_source) for the rest of your visit, and details you have entered in the form, so they can be filled in for you next time.

The enquiry form loads whatever you choose in our cookie pop-up, because it is how you get in touch with us. What you send through it goes to us via LeadConnector — our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.

Your cookie choice

This website also stores the answer you give in our cookie pop-up. When you press Accept or Reject, your browser keeps a small note of your choice and the date, so the pop-up does not appear on every page. It is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name “cookie-consent” — not in a cookie — and it is never sent to us. It stays until you clear your browser’s data for this site, or change your choice below.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to other websites, including The Solar Company, The Flat Roofing Company, Instagram and LinkedIn. Following one of those links takes you to a site we do not control, which may set its own cookies under its own cookies policy.

Changing your choice

You can change the choice you made in our cookie pop-up at any time. If you switch from Accept to Reject, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are deleted:

Change cookie choices

You can also block or delete cookies and stored site data for any website from your browser’s settings. Each browser — such as Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox — explains how in its own help pages.

Changes to this policy

If the cookies this website uses change, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
