This was a great project to be a part of throughout the refurbishment of this ideally located hotel in Weymouth. We were on this project for a couple of months throughout all of the flat roofing, pitched roofing and terrace flat roofing works.
The slate work was for the mansard roof situated above the new restaurant. This was an intricate job due to it being situated on all of the terrace areas which are rented out to customers on the Stable wing of the hotel.
After stripping off the old slates and mansard build-up we then set out to install a new mansard roof build-up. This consisted of insulation between the rafters, counter battening the sides and completing the mansard with new – Esco traditional Spanish Slates. We also completed each dormer top along the mansard with new single ply membrane, and all of the lead work flashings.
This was a time sensitive project due to it being an open hotel, so we had to work to strict time frames and allowances as part of the project.
