This project was a complete refurbishment for the entire roof of the house. Working closely with the client we designed and managed the renovation from start to finish, with fantastic feedback.
Our team began by stripping off the old roof tiles, roofing batten and breather membrane to reveal the roof structure and rafters. After completing some carpentry works on the roof structure to extend certain roof areas to make bigger, we began to start building up the new roofing system. First of all, we used an eco-standard breather membrane to cover over the roof areas before fitting new treated roofing batten set at the required gauge for the new slate system. Due to the size of this project, we worked across the areas in sections to complete the waterproofing. Here we fitted Etex Cedral Thrutone smooth slates (blue/black) with a Marley modern ridge system (dry fix) to suit. Over the course of this project, we encountered various details which we integrated into the new roof system. This included new Velux windows and flashing kits, chimney work, lead works, dormers, valley works, over fascia vents, eaves support trays. Once completed we then stripped off the old flat roofs, extended them out to create larger canopies and installed warm roof single ply membrane systems. Great project to be a part of and very satisfying to see the transformation.
